Zeal Woodcraft

Zeal Woodcraft are a family business based in Wiltshire, creating bespoke woodwork ranging from handmade kitchens, one-off commissioned furniture pieces, and exterior joinery such as Doors & Windows, for the premium domestic market.

They already purchased their Wood Coatings from Elmbridge and had a good relationship with Bradley who already knew some of their workforce from working at other clients previously.

The Challenge: Zeal were unaware of the scope of modern spray equipment, having used traditional pot-guns so far. Although sufficient, this was a relatively slow spraying process which reduced the profitability on fully finished work, particularly larger items, due to the man hours booked against painting. Also, the existing method of spray resulted in a dirty working environment.

The Solution: We introduced them to Air-Assisted spray equipment by a free-trial, with equipment setup and operator training included. The Wagner Cobra suited their requirements, due to its rapid-colour change and portability for potential site use compared to more basic spray pumps on the market. A high pressure-ratio and reversible tips also benefitted the wide range of products they apply.

The Benefits: The Wagner Cobra was able to more than halve the time taken to spray all manner of items, while producing a thicker more-consistent paint film, and saving the customer from having to thin down their paint before spraying. Its reduced overspray means that their newly finished spraybooth is staying cleaner, and the operators are spending more time on other tasks as well as paint finishing.

Result: Zeal woodcraft are delighted with their pump, and personally thanked Bradley for persisting with the demonstration when they were initially sceptical that the pump would a) make much difference, and b) would be a worthwhile investment. Regardless to say, they would never go back to the previous method, and the few thousand pounds has already been earnt back within 12 months of use in time saved.
